"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
This means to not have faith in God and to not know that all of our gifts in life comes from God. For they will be watched by God until they know that God has given much things to them and they will be humble and grateful for everything. And when we are open to new ideas, it is easier to accept God and his teaching than a person who is not knowing and unwilling to learn about God.
An example would be like a new student in your school. The student just came from a whole different place and know he has to adjust to his new school. He has never went to church before and doesn't worship and god. It is easier to teach him about the Word of God then it is teach others because he never had a religion before and so it is easier for him to understand because it is his first religion.
